Good Eats

There are some Columbia meals which, when brought to memory, have the power to make your mouth water years down the road. What makes them memorable will vary — maybe it’s the ambiance, the great service, the robust flavors or the unforgettable company.

My food memories of Columbia are scattered among high school summer evenings spent slurping a rootbeer float under the awning at Mugs Up, a few special occasions at CC’s City Broiler when I was “dressed to the nine’s,” and everything in between.

In recent years, access to fresh, local fare has never been easier, thanks to chefs who are utilizing foods from nearby farms. The May issue of Inside Columbia Magazine highlights the diversity — and the deliciousness — of Columbia’s prolific food and restaurant landscape.
