Grill-A-Brothers grew out of creative passion and desire to have fun. “We had done some barbecue competitions before and wanted to create our own business with our own ideas and motivations,” says Daniel Thorne, owner of Grill-A-Brothers.
Low initial start-up costs and being able to take the business to people were an added bonus. Having a mobile business is really advantageous in this market, Thorne says. The biggest challenge with owning a food truck is not knowing what is going to happen, but that’s also what makes it fun.
“It’s fun to see what happens and do the same events over and over again,” Thorne says.
Thorne and his former business partner, Patrick Dierkes, developed the menu. All of their bread and sauces are made in-house, and the recipes were modified from ones they already had or created from new ideas.
