By On Friday, community members are welcome to join Relay For Life of Boone County to celebrate survivors, remember those lost and fight back as a community to end cancer. The relay is set for 5-10 p.m. at Dexheimer Shelter at Cosmo Park.
Relay For Life is the world’s largest volunteer-based fundraising event. The tentative schedule for the Boone County relay includes a 5:30 p.m. opening ceremony, 7 p.m. all star performance, 8:15 p.m. body attack and the closing ceremony at 9:45 p.m. There also will be a silent auction, which closes at 8:45 p.m., and the luminaria ceremony will begin at 9 p.m.
People are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, bring donations, have strollers, wagons or wheelchairs needed for the walk and wear purple. There also will be food trucks from 5-8 p.m. For more information, click here.
