Joyful Occasions

The wedding of KALIE CLENNIN and ETHAN KRAMEL will take place on Nov. 19 at Les Bourgeois Vineyards in Rocheport. The setting has special meaning for the couple, as it is where Ethan proposed. On Jan. 22, Ethan picked Kalie up in a limousine to take her to dinner at Les Bourgeois. There, he surprised her by proposing on the lower terrace. When he escorted her upstairs to dinner, Kalie was instead ushered into an engagement party he had arranged with 30 of their closest family members.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Russell and Tracy Clennin of California. A graduate of Missouri State University with a degree in marketing, Kalie is the marketing coordinator at the Isle of Capri in Boonville. Ethan, the groom-to-be, is the son of Roger and Tracy Kramel, also of California. A graduate of California High School, Ethan is a skilled laborer for Capital Paving & Construction in Jefferson City.

The two have been childhood friends since middle school, and their parents live a mile apart.

KRISTEN CASSIDY and SCHUYLER BLEVINS will marry on Oct. 8 at the First Christian Church. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dan and Linda Cassidy of Fulton. A University of Missouri graduate with a degree in hospitality management, Kristen works as an event coordinator with Independent Stave Company. The future groom is the son of Mark and Michelle Blevins of Auxvasse. A graduate of Linn State Technical College, he works as an electrician at Ameren in Fulton.

The couple first met as children on the Fulton Fins Swim Team and started dating right after high school. Schuyler surprised Kristen by proposing on her sister’s birthday. He was supposed to join Kristen and her family for a birthday dinner, but just as she left for the restaurant with her sister, Kristen received a frantic call from Schuyler to come to their new house to help find horses that had gotten out through an open gate.

It was a ruse. As she and her sister drove up to the house, Kristen saw a circle of candles down by the lake — with Schuyler already kneeling in the center. Both families were gathered on the porch to witness the proposal and celebrate with cake and champagne.
