The 2017 Visual Art & Design Showcase is a venue for Mizzou undergraduate students to display and discuss their scholarly work in an exhibition setting. Student work will be on display featuring works of photojournalism, graphic design, architectural drawing, theatre lighting design, painting, textile and apparel design, digital storytelling, floral design and more. A four-person guest jury will award $10,000 in professional development funds to the most outstanding student work. The Showcase will begin on Monday, Jan. 30 with a screening of student work in digital storytelling and documentary at 5:30 p.m. in Jesse Auditorium, followed by a panel discussion from area film experts. Jury members will participate in a panel discussion at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 in Jesse Auditorium and National Geographic Director of Photography—and MU alumna—Sarah Leen will deliver a keynote address at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 in Jesse Auditorium. All of the students’ work will be on display in Jesse Hall from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. on Jan. 30-Feb. 3. All events are free and open to the public.
