Columbia Metro Rotary will host a Stop the Bleed presentation and training session on Wednesday, August 8, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Columbia Country Club. “Stop the Bleed,” a national campaign launched in 2015, is designed to turn bystanders into life-savers. The 90-minute presentation and hands-on training will be handled by trauma specialists from the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics.
Following a traumatic event, the fate of someone suffering from severe blood loss can be critical. Therefore it’s important the public know what to do to stop the bleeding until medical help arrives. This is primarily what prompted the White House to launch this campaign.
Attendance is free but limited. Anyone interested in pre-registering should contact Dr. Tom Rose at 573-449-3791 or email@example.com.
