Blues whiz Samantha Fish is having a busy year having released 2 very different albums in the same year. Chills & Fever (March 2017) contains covers from the ’50s and ’60s and was produced by Bobby Harlow and the Detroit Cobras The New York Times named it as one of their Top Albums for 2017.
Belle of the West (November 2017) is the polar opposite of “Chills.” The Americana/blues collection was produced by Luther Dickinson and debuted at #1 in Billboard Blues charts. Rolling Stone called it “One to Watch.” No Depression simply called “Belle of the West is just an explosion of talent.”
The New York Times has called Samantha Fish “an impressive blues guitarist who sings with sweet power” and “one of the genre’s most promising young talents.” Her hometown paper The Kansas City Star noted, “Samantha Fish has kicked down the door of the patriarchal boys club” and observed that the young artist “displays more imagination and creativity than some blues veterans exhibit over the course of their careers.
