Odyssey Chamber Music Series: Solar Eclipse – A Celestial Celebration

Joining the rare Solar Eclipse celebration, Odyssey Chamber Music Series will host a live concert program inspired by our inevitable, natural phenomenon. Featured works are as diverse and massive as our galaxy and include Gustav Holst’s “Planets” arranged for five pianos by Greg Anderson; George Crumb’s “Makrokosmos III: Music for a Summer Evening” for two pianos and percussion; and additional songs such as “Memory of the Sun” (Prokofiev, Op. 27) and “Fear no more the heat o’ the sun” (Finzi). This universal concert experience will be followed by a Sun-inspired reception. Free and open to the public. Sponsored by Mizzou Advantage and the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs.
