“The Red Box”

Maplewood Barn Theater and Talking Horse Productions present The Red Box. Nero Wolfe will do anything to acquire rare orchids, even agreeing to put his eccentric genius to work solving a murder that baffles police. The secret is “in the red box,” a dying man gasps out at his feet. The very first Rex Stout novel adapted for theatre gets its community theatre premiere in this joint Maplewood Barn/Talking Horse production featuring the corpulent, sedentary detective and all the usual suspects, plus handsome legman Archie Goodwin, cigar-crunching Inspector Cramer and culinary genius Fritz Brenner. Can America’s Sherlock Holmes solve two murders without leaving his office? Of course he can! 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. Sunday matinee.
