Suffrage: What’s Fashion Got To Do With It? Exhibition

The Stephens College Costume Museum and Research Library is pleased to announce its fall 2019 exhibit: “Suffrage: What’s Fashion Got To Do With It?” The exhibit opens Aug. 24 and runs through Dec. 13 at the Historic Costume Gallery, mezzanine of Lela Raney Wood Hall, 6 N. College Ave., Columbia, Missouri.

Featuring more than 25 garments and accessories from the 1870s to the 1920s, “Suffrage” invites visitors to consider how fashion impacted women’s struggle to gain the right to vote, and what fashion continues to mean for women’s rights today. This event is part of a year-long series of hosted by Stephens College in celebration of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States.
