Event Details

Local health care providers, hospitals and experts are joining advocacy groups to present a public forum to discuss potential impacts of health care reform on residents of Jefferson City and mid-Missouri. What impacts could the proposed ACHA legislation have on you and your family? Would you be better off by fixing or by repealing and replacing the ACA? How will block granting Medicaid impact local residents? Should basic healthcare be a right or a commodity, available only to those who can afford it? Could proposed legislation reinstate denial of insurance coverage for a pre-existing condition? Could we return to lifetime caps on the amount insurance companies have to pay out for an individual’s care? Could we soon see plans that do not cover core services? Who benefits from the proposed reforms? When a new health care system becomes law, what can Mid-Missouri residents expect?
The forum will present brief presentations by three local healthcare experts, followed by a Q&A session with an extended panel including representatives from local hospitals and healthcare provider organizations.
