Fresh Air And Fresh Produce

If one of your resolutions was to eat a healthier diet, plan a trip to the Columbia Farmers Market this Saturday. The market is open inside the MU Health Care Pavilion from 9 a.m.-noon. Get out and get some fresh air and fresh produce. The selection varies by season but often includes fruits and veggies, artisan breads and cheeses, honey, lavender products and jams, pasta and more.

Currently the pavilion accommodates 38 covered vendor spaces, parking for each vendor and a 30-foot-wide shopping aisle for market customers along with restrooms and drinking fountains. Additional Farmers Market vendors conduct business from tents set up on either side of the pavilion. Vinyl curtains are used to create a heated indoor space for winter market use. When the final phase of construction is completed, the pavilion will provide covered space and parking for 98 vendors.
