Sara-ndepity? Not Exactly.

Chef Sara Fougere, author of our “Fougere’s Favorites” column in each issue of Inside Columbia and owner of Sara Fourgere Catering, just began operating out of a new kitchen yesterday.  She’s sharing space with Wishflour Bakery at 1023 E. Walnut, Suite 7.

Although it is smaller than her previous space, she’s thrilled with the area. “It’s so fun to be in the vibrant North Village Arts District!” Fougere says. “It has so much energy and there’s always something going on. It’s a really nice atmosphere.”

Known for creative catering — in particular for upscale parties — Fougere also offers family meals by pre-order. She says a few of her most popular items are shrimp and grits, chicken pot pie, Not Your Granny’s pimento loaf and meatloaf.

Fougere is also one of the local chefs featured in our “Columbia’s Best Chefs” cookbook. You can see two of her recipes from the book, both for salads,  here and here.
