A New View: Payne in the Class

By L.G. Patterson

The Assignment: Payne in the Class

The Location: John Warner Middle School

The life of a middle school student is full of challenges.

They are adjusting to a heavier academic workload. Their teachers expect them to be independent, self-motivated learners with high expectations. All the while, these tweens are trying to find their footing in the fluid social structure among their peers. At the same time, their teachers are guiding them along as best they can. Educators seem to find little things to motivate their students along an admirable path.

It’s the little things that make a difference, like this simple hand-painted stone sitting on the intercom outside of John Warner Middle School.

Be good.

Do good.

We all could use these little reminders.
