Last week at City Hall, over 80 locally-owned businesses finished training provided by the Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopment to be proclaimed an autism-friendly city. The training program instructed businesses on how to best serve neurodivergent customers and more to make Columbia accessible to all.
This comes just before the opening of the new Thompson Center, which opened its doors Friday. The new center provides patient care including occupational therapy and applied behavior skills.
