Kindness Mural Unveiled at Children’s Grove

By Jane Steinbrecher

In a collaboration with Burrell Behavioral Health and Children’s Grove, a kindness mural has been painted in the newly-designed Berrywood clinic.

“We hope this event will offer up an opportunity to discuss the importance of feeling safe in health care spaces, the importance of art in Columbia and some of advanced treatment options Burrell offers at Berrywood,” Burrell Behavioral Health stated in a press release. With the renovation to the Berrywood clinic, providers will offer transcranial magnetic stimulation and esketamine for treatment-resistent depression and anxiety to help patients in our community.

The mural, which designed to inspire creativity and kindness, was created by local artist Adrienne Luther and can be found on the third floor of the youth psychiatry waiting area.

See the mural at the dedication on Jan. 16 at 6 p.m., where Boone County Commissioner Janet Thompson and Mayor Barbara Buffaloe will speak. The clinic can be found at 3401 Berrywood Dr.
