After a lengthy process, the city of Columbia has secured the $2.13 million Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Business Loop.
The purpose of this grant is to fund a planning study for The Loop, including feature studies on complete streets design, storm water management, beautification elements and design improvements to intersections, bike lanes and pedestrian connections.
The study aims to lay the groundwork for a more connected, accessible and visually appealing corridor that better serves the needs of Columbia’s residents and businesses.
