It’s the time of year to give thanks. Powerhouse Community Development is gearing up for this year’s Thanksgiving meal. A Time To Give Thanks is providing a hot meal to anyone in the community from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at the Columbia Senior Activity Center.

This tradition keeps Almeta Crayton’s legacy alive, the late Columbia City Council member who created Everybody Eats, by providing food to those in need.

If you would like to donate can goods, you are asked to drop off items at the Powerhouse Community Development located at 601 Business Loop, suite 204 from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, visit the event page on Facebook.

Papadoo’s Soul Food also will be offering a free Thanksgiving meal. Each plate will have turkey, ham, mac and cheese, greens and dressing. The meals will be available starting at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at 1301 Vandiver Drive, suite E. The restaurant however will not be open for regular business.
