Los Comales Mexican Restaurant & Store has officially been open in Columbia for several months and the community has been nothing but welcoming. Latisha Mendez, manager of Los Comales, says with just word of mouth, the community has swarmed in to try the new spot. “We took off in the beginning as soon as it opened,” she says. “And business continues to be good now.”
Mendez says Los Comalas stands out for a number of reasons. “Everyone says the portions are nice and the food is very good and authentic.” Currently, Los Comalas is working to get its liquor license, “which we plan on getting in the next two weeks,” Mendez says.
Along with the restaurant, Los Comales also has a small store with several goods from Mexico. The store is open daily from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
