On the second Saturday of each month at 10 a.m., join the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture for a walking tour of CCUA’s Food Forest. Dates include:
- June 13
- July 11
- Aug. 8
- Sept. 12
- Oct. 10
The tour will begin by meeting at the red chicken coop in front of CCUA’s Maintenance Barn. Filled with edible fruit and nut trees, berry bushes and native Missouri flowers, the staff will guide you through the forest so you can taste, smell, touch and learn to identify what’s growing.
You can also learn how to foodscape your own backyard or garden space. Tours will cover topics such as planning and designing your space, where to source native plants, irrigation management, holistic management of pests, harvest times and how to cook or prepare what you grow.
Tours are free and open to the community, but CCUA requests that attendees RSVP here.
