Mark your social calendar for Sunday, March 17 — St. Patrick’s Day! As this year, the day falls on a weekend, bars and restaurants in Columbia’s downtown have deals all weekend long. Here’s a round-up of a few.

A few bars and restaurants on North Ninth Street are continuing their annual tradition of hosting a wristband event on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. Participating bars and restaurants include Son of a Gun, 9th Street Public House, Room 38 Restaurant & Lounge, as well as 44 Canteen. Each wristband is $10 with no cover at any of the locations. Wristbands come with drink and food deals, including $5 Jameson shots and lime High Noon at Son of a Gun; $5 Jameson shots and $4 green draft beer at 9th Street Public House; $5 Jameson shots and Irish red beers, $6 canned Jameson cocktails and car bombs at Room 38; and $1 off tacos for in-house orders at 44 Canteen. For more information and to buy your wristband, see the Facebook event page.

McNally’s Irish Pub looks to host revelers from Friday to Sunday with $7 Guinness Bombs and 32oz green Bud Light. According to their social media, they will also offer corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew, and fish and chips on their menu. Giveaways, promotional teams and free swag will also be appearing throughout the weekend.

If you’re looking for Irish music, Cafe Berlin is hosting Fred Dittrich & Friends Irish Jam at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Sponsored by KOPN, the event is also for those musically inclined, as the venue encourages bringing an instrument and joining the stage. Whether or not you decide to jam along, the Facebook event recommends grabbing a drink at the bar and hanging with friends.

Harpo’s is hosting their St. Patrick’s Day party on Saturday with $2 wells, aluminums, bombs and shots, as well as $2 tacos, tots, fries, pulled pork slides, and chips and salsa. Visit the Instagram page for more information about comedian Kam Patterson and Mizzou alumn Bianca Parato, who will be taking the stage for stand-up comedy sets on Thursday and Friday night before the St. Pat festivities begin.
