The Old Neighborhood Cafe Announces Closure

By Bailey Rizzo

In a Facebook post last night, The Old Neighborhood Cafe announced that it will be closing at the end of the month, with its last day in service on Feb. 28.

The popular lunch spot near Cherry Hill was opened by mother-and-son duo Vanessa and Jake Leitza three and a half years ago, offering good food and better company. “While this chapter is coming to a close, the relationships, memories and love we’ve built here will stay with us always. We’re proud of what Old Neighborhood Cafe stood for and deeply thankful to the community that embraced us so wholeheartedly,” the Facebook post reads.

The restaurateurs encourage the Columbia community to continue to support local businesses, as the stress of food costs, rent, labor and unsteady business can be difficult to manage.

Stop by The Old Neighborhood Cafe for one last meal this month.
