The The Shops at Sharp End, a retail incubator in the heart of the historic Black-owned business district located in downtown Columbia, is celebrating its one-year anniversary. This all-day shopping event will be on Friday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to mark one year of community, culture and commerce.
At 2:30 p.m., the celebration will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reading of a Missouri House Resolution from Representative Kathy Steinhoff recognizing the significance of The Shops at Sharp End to Columbia’s economic and cultural landscape.
“As we celebrate the one-year anniversary of The Shops at Sharp End, we reflect on a year of growth, community and entrepreneurial spirit,” program manager Tiowanna Warrick says. “We’re excited to mark this milestone with a special celebration alongside our managing partners, REDI (Regional Economic Development Inc.) and The District. This partnership has been instrumental in supporting the vibrant, diverse businesses that make The Shops at Sharp End a dynamic and unique shopping destination. Together, we’ve created a place where local entrepreneurs thrive and customers find a curated selection of high-quality products and services.”
This event will be a lively celebration of the spirit of entrepreneurship that fuels The Shops.
We’ll showcase the hardworking business owners who have made their mark here,” Warrick says. “This day is about more than just a celebration, it’s about honoring the individuals who have poured their passion into their businesses and contributed to the success of this community. Join us as we look back on a fantastic year and toast to the many more to come, filled with growth, innovation, and the continued success of our amazing entrepreneurs.”
The event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to join the festivities, explore the shops and enjoy light refreshments. The Shops at Sharp End team extends their thanks to all customers, partners and the Columbia community for making this milestone possible.
