Who doesn’t love their friendly, neighborhood deli? Cold cut Italian sandwiches, smoked beef, rye bread, loaded up with veggies or cheese — the sandwich really is the king of lunches.

Some Columbians may have a sandwich-shaped hole in their heart following the loss of our local Sub Shop and while our selection of local lunch spots is vast, the allure of a good, locally run sandwich shop is hard to ignore.

Birdie’s Deli, on Instagram as @birdiescomo, has been teasing their opening soon. Stay tuned for information on pop-ups this summer and to see shots of their Italiano and pesto pastrami sandwiches. While there’s no official opening date yet, we’ll all be keeping our ears out for the big announcement.
