Blossom Bakery, an Ashland-based business known for handmade treats, will be bringing their rosettes to Tin Roof Monogram & Gift this Friday from noon to 6 p.m.
What’s a rosette? Imagine a delicate, fried cookie dusted with powdered sugar. They’re sort of like funnel cakes, only crispier and requiring a more advanced technique to create. The cookies are made with a special tool called a rosette iron, forming intricate shapes such as (in this case) pumpkins, footballs, helmets and other autumn-themed patterns like turkeys, apples and cats. The Scandinavian-based cookie has been around for centuries, gaining popularity as a satisfying, unique dessert that definitely won’t last long at your next tailgate or party.
For homecoming festivities, Blossom Bakery has trays with footballs and helmets with assorted toppings: cinnamon sugar, white chocolate, sprinkles, dipped chocolate and the classic powdered sugar. A single rosette is $5, a tray of eight $36, a box of 12 is $54 and a box of 24 is $84.
Ready for Halloween already? Seasonal varieties by Blossom Bakery include white chocolate pumpkin spice rosettes, chocolate-dipped turkeys, hot cocoa black cats, apple cider rosettes and more. “Spooky Mini Boxes” are also available, holding four mini Halloween-themed rosettes of various flavors.
For every 12 or 24 rosettes purchased, you will be entered into a giveaway to win a 24-count box of Thanksgiving or Christmas-themed rosettes.
