Best of Columbia 2026: Brian Wear Plumbing & Restoration

By Inside Columbia

Brian Wear Plumbing & Restoration, Gold winner for Best Plumbing Company, Best CEO, Best Customer Service and Bronze winner for Best Disaster Response, started simply.

Owner Brian Wear couldn’t find a plumbing company to work for, so he built his own. Fast forward 20 years, and it’s grown into a team of about 32 people. What started with only Wear and an idea turned into a full team serving the community every day.

What makes Brian Wear Plumbing & Restoration the best in Columbia is how they take care of people. From the first phone call to the follow through after the job, Wear and his team are focused on doing things the right way, being upfront, communicating clearly and taking pride in what they do. The several recognitions Brian Wear Plumbing & Restoration has earned from Best of Columbia voters doesn’t happen without a team that takes pride in what they do and actually cares about the people they’re helping every day. Wear says his team is what makes the difference.

“They’re the reason we’re here,” Wear says. “The way they show up every day, take care of customers and take pride in what they do, that’s what this is really about. I’m grateful for every single one of them.”

From plumbers out in the field to people answering phones in the office, everyone at Brian Wear Plumbing takes the time to listen, explain things and make sure people feel heard from that first call to the completed job.

At the core of Wear’s business, it’s about doing right by people. That starts with being honest, treating people with respect and giving them clear options to make the best decision for their home. They take a lot of pride in their work, so craftsmanship and professionalism matter. That means showing up the right way, doing quality work that lasts and leaving things better than they found them. Behind all of that is a strong team that supports each other, a mindset of always improving and a real commitment to being part of the community they serve.

Columbia has supported Brian Wear Plumbing & Restoration for over 20 years through calls, referrals and trust — things Wear and his team never take for granted. They try to give that same support back through involvement with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, True North of Columbia and the Central Missouri Humane Society, along with other local efforts throughout the year.

With three gold medals and a bronze under their belts, Wear and his crew at Brian Wear Plumbing & Restoration have no plans to slow down. The business is moving to a new location next year, a major step that will allow them to service even more people in Columbia.

“To be recognized like this by the community we serve every day means a lot,” Wear says. “We don’t take it lightly. At the end of the day, we’re going to keep doing what got us here, taking care of people, doing solid work and standing behind it. That’s what matters to us and that’s what we plan to keep building on.”
