For Cheryl Miller, the chief operating officer of Cheryl L. Miller, LLC, her interest in legal work started in the 1970s. “I remember watching my father closely follow the nightly news. And I watched my grandmother, a strong and respected woman, work tirelessly as a domestic,” Miller says. “Still, I couldn’t ignore how systems in this country made life harder for Black families like ours.”
