It’s time for the 8th annual Hope for Heroes 5k.
This three-mile race is to help The Food Bank’s veterans programs, which also provide support to many of the partner agencies and the VIP Veteran Pack Program.
According to Feeding America, 10% of working-age veterans and approximately 25% of active-duty service members lived in food-insecure households in 2020. The Food Bank’s VIP Veteran Pack Program is designed to help change these statistics and aid those who have served our country.
Check-in for the race opens at 6:45 a.m., then the opening ceremony follows at 7:30 a.m. The race officially starts at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday at Cosmo Park.
Registration is $35 per runner. If you can make the race in person, there is a virtual race option available as well. For more information on the 5k, visit sharefoodbringhope.org/events/hope-for-heroes-5k/
