The Ronald McDonald House, which offers a respite to families of children facing health care issues, recently announced its new location. Construction will begin in the fall on a new location at 1110 S. College Ave., at the northeast corner of Stadium Boulevard and College Avenue. The anticipated opening date of the new facility is spring 2024.

The new home will have 31,000 square feet of finished space and include 24 private guest rooms with private baths, large kitchen, exercise room, library and outdoor gardens. The existing Ronald McDonald House on Keene Street, which was close to the former Women’s and Children’s Hospital, will be sold. A capital campaign for the new construction is now underway.

The focus of the Ronald McDonald House is that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child. Faced with mounting medical bills and worries about their child’s health, the Ronald McDonald House gives parents a home near the hospital for a good night’s sleep and nourishing meals to sustain them.
