The deadline to sign up for the first Four Oaks Farm pie baking contest is approaching.

From 3-4:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at 11805 E. Judy School Road, people will bake their best pie in hopes of winning first place for $100, second place for $50 or third place for a $25 prize.

People must sign up by Oct. 19 to participate. Anyone interested can enter by emailing fouroaksfarmmissouri@gmail.com. The categories for the contest include any dessert pie, including blueberry, rhubarb, pecan and buckeye. Pies with single crust or double crust are welcome as well.

To participate, people must make their pie from scratch in a 9 or 10-inch pie, plate or pan. Each pie must include a cover and no pre-made or store-bought crusts can be used. People also must enter their pie under their own name; each contestant can enter up to two pies. All ages are welcome to participate.
