The former site of International Cafe at 26 S. Ninth St. will soon be home to a different kind of ethnic food — authentic Chinese. Bamboo Terrace is taking over the spot and one of its owners, Celeste Chen, says they hope to be open in March.
Chen and the other owners jumped at the chance to secure the downtown location, with its high level of foot traffic, since Bamboo Terrace’s lease at its current location at 3101 W. Broadway ends in July.
The eatery serves a variety of east Asian cuisine: Thai Style Red Curry Shrimp, Stir-Fried Sole, Korean Style Seafood Jum Bong, Japanese Style Stir Fried Udon Noodles, Mongolian Beef and more.
Initially, the restaurant will offer takeout only.
