Go For Baroque!

By Inside Columbia

Odyssey Chamber Music Series presents, “Baroque Concerto,”  featuring the three 2021 pre-collegiate Aria/Concerto Competition winners with the Odyssey Chamber Ensemble, led by Stephen Radcliffe. The highlight of the concert on Friday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, is the annual “Bach Cantata” with Bach Collegium Choir, directed by R. Paul Crabb, performed with the Odyssey Chamber Ensemble. The snow date is Feb. 20. Admission is free and masks are required.

Odyssey Chamber Music Series describes itself as “A Celebration Of Music With Friends, and a concert series dedicated to classical music of smaller ensembles with modern flair.”

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Odyssey was founded in 2004 by clarinetist Carina L. N. Washington and Edward S. Rollins, former Music Director of the First Baptist Church. Before the first season was initiated, Washington moved to Memphis with her husband Lecolion. Her position was then filled by her friend, pianist Ayako Tsuruta, who continues as artistic director this season.
