The former Papa’s Cat Café officially has a new name, Bertha’s Beans Cat Café! The new owners, who also own Lizzi & Rocco’s, announced the name on Facebook, saying the story behind the name comes from their feline muse, Bertha, a foster fail cat from the Central Missouri Humane Society. Bertha became the first store cat for Lizzi & Rocco’s before retiring and spending her final years resting at home.
The second part of the name comes from the latest addition to the family. Little Miss Beans recently got adopted from Second Chance, and according to a post on Facebook, she will be the resident cat of Bertha’s Beans Café once it is open. “She is the most lovable, agreeable, laid-back cat, and we know you’re going to love her when you meet her,” the post says.
In early August, Lizzi & Rocco’s owners announced they were taking over the café after Papa’s Cat Café announced it was planning to close permanently in June to focus more on family.
