Broadway Brewery is temporarily closing its doors.

The popular Columbia spot announced on New Year’s Eve that it would temporarily close. On Wednesday, the business announced that  Lushen Claridge, son of owner Walker Claridge, passed away after a car accident Saturday. “Lushen not only grew up in The Brewery but was one of the brightest young stars in our kitchen staff and loved by all,” the post stated.  “We want to say thank you to the community for the overwhelming support and love over the last few days.”

The business will reopen at 4 p.m. Thursday. Patrons are being asked to be patient and understanding with the staff as they move forward.
