Sub Shop, home of award-winning sandwiches such as their famous “The Veggie” and renowned Reuben, is stopping service after 49 years of business.

Sub Shop was locally owned since 1975 under the slogan: Stay Grateful, Eat Bread, Play the Dead. Sub Shop’s owners broke the news to Facebook, reporting that they are thankful to have been such a well-loved staple in the community. They cited a “rough” past several years, personally and professionally, for the closure.

Sub Shop is a local favorite that many Columbians will mourn for years to come. For those wanting to take a piece with them, equipment, furniture, memorabilia and artwork will be offered at auction via Asset Auctions Group.
