Tapping Into Your Own Hormones To Create A Harmonious Lifestyle

Have you ever felt like you’re a hamster on a wheel constantly running, working tirelessly and not seeing results in different areas of your life? Whether that be physical goals, work achievements, finishing school, wanting a family, getting to retirement? The list goes on.

Self-improvement is not about trying to be better than anybody else. It’s a way of healing yourself from things you had no control over in the past, so you can create a brighter future. Self-improvement is acknowledging that you are not perfect and will never be. Rather, it is about taking control of your life to make positive changes in the areas that you are unhappy with, while also embracing the things that you love about yourself.

In life, there is no such thing as balance. There are seasons where certain areas of your life may require a different version of you or more time from you. Instead of thinking you need balance in your life, consider having more harmony. The more in harmony you are with the flow of your own existence, the more magical life becomes.

Creating harmony can be achieved for free by tapping into your own hormones and giving yourself a daily D.O.S.E. First, you just have to understand how your own body and hormones work. Your body naturally produces hormones to help you feel good, function well and maintain a healthy, harmonious lifestyle. Your body supplies four feel good hormones, or as I mentioned, D.O.S.E. — Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins.

Dopamine — your reward hormone. Did you know you get surges of dopamine in your body when you complete tasks, do a self-care activity, take a nap or appreciate the small wins?

Oxytocin — your love hormone. Oxytocin sparks when you give others compliments, listen to music, hug or cuddle with someone, get a massage by a massage therapist or adjusted by a chiropractor.

Serotonin — your mood stabilizer. You can get this from meditating, sun exposure, cold showers, yoga or being in nature.

Endorphins — your natural pain killers. You can achieve these by simply moving your body even 30 minutes per day, laughing, dancing, being creative or a dose of dark chocolate.

As you work through life, understand your mind and body are always made to heal and function the best way possible.

Your mental health is a priority. Your happiness is essential. Your self-care is a necessity.
