If you’re in the mood to show off your talents, the Columbia Public Library is hosting an open mic night this week. From 7-9 p.m. Friday, anyone in high school or older can enjoy some local music, poetry, coffee and tea all for free!
The library will set up one vocal mic, a guitar amp and a guitar if you cannot bring your own. All other additional sound equipment will need to be brought by the performer. The space will also be open to acoustic playing, if preferred.
All performers will have the mic for seven minutes and the set should be appropriate for the age group.
Participants can register ahead of time by clicking here to reserve a spot. Listeners are welcome as well and do not need to register. However, If you feel inspired to perform once you arrived, the event page says you can check in with the hosts as some spots will be saved for in-person signups.
