Man, Oh Man … Have You Heard?

By Inside Columbia

The COMO Man Show is almost here! If you’re a man, you’re not going to want to miss this event with everything manly happening on Saturday, March 19, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m Holiday Inn Expo Center.

Hunting and fishing, sports, food, beer and power tools — the show will have everything to indulge in the ultimate man day with all your buddies.

Talk about puttin’ The MO in machis-mo — this event is the ultimate tribute to testosterone.

The show’s brought to you by Zimmer Communications’ radio station Classic Rock 96.7 KCMQ. It couldn’t be a more copacetic combo: KCMQ’s the home of “The Morning Shag with Shags and Trevor,” lunch with Kelly, “The 96-Minute Free Ride” with Tim Taylor and Rock Legend Alice Cooper from 7 p.m.-midnight. KCMQ’s also your home for the Chiefs, MU football and men’s basketball.

Shags is the mastermind behind this manly marathon. He grew up in Oregon and has never forgotten how excited he got about the Portland Sportsman’s Show as a kid, which his family annually attended. That’s what The CoMo Man Show’s modeled after: “I wanted to bring the concept here and share my passion for the outdoors and conservation with everyone in mid-Mo,” Shags says, “and to promote conservation and outdoor recreation growth.”

So what can you expect at the show? A manslide of fun. Dozens of booths and activities, prize drawings, a wing eating contest, best beard competition, delicious food and drinks from local establishments, other drinks for purchase and more.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Central MO Honor Flight, a very worthy cause with a mission to transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.

Consider this a lighthearted mandate to attend. Or, a man date. Either way, it’s gonna be fun. A-men to that. Get tickets here.
