With the holidays drawing near, it’s important to stay healthy so you don’t miss important events with loved ones. Cold and flu season is in full swing, and here are some tips for keeping yourself and your family healthy.

  • Do not share drinks or utensils.
  • Get plenty of rest in between holiday parties with loved ones.
  • Wash your hands often, before and after meals.
  • Add Vitamins C, D and Zinc to your rotation! These three vitamins may boost your immune system. If you don’t want to take supplements, Vitamin C can be naturally derived from citrus, broccoli and peppers. Zinc can be found in red meat. Vitamin D is found most abundantly in natural sunlight, but is also present in egg yolks and fatty salmon.
  • Skip a celebration if you feel yourself falling under the weather. This is the best way to ensure your family and friends stay healthy and happy through the winter.
  • Maintain a balance of fruits, vegetables and protein throughout your holiday feasts.
