Celebrate Valentine’s Day by giving back to the community this year. From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday at Columbia Safety and Supply at 1319 E. Boone Industrial Drive, you can give blood at the Valentine’s Day Blood Drive.

According to the American Red Cross, one single blood donation can save more than one life, and should only take five to 10 minutes of your time. And every two seconds someone in the United Sates needs blood or platelets.

To register for the event, click this link and use the sponsor code “ColumbiaSafety.” People who donate also will get to enjoy Zydeco’s Cajun food truck from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information on blood donation, visit redcrossblood.org.
