A new venture capital fund and studio has moved into the Arcade District in Columbia.

Brett Calhoun, managing director and general partner at Scale VC, says Scale VC is an early stage venture capital fund and studio investing monetary and social capital in tech founders across North America. “Scale VC provides hands on support to founders at the idea to early traction stage in Columbia, Missouri, and across the nation,” Calhoun says. “In the last two years, we’ve supported 30 companies in over a dozen markets from robotics to consumer health.” Scale VC also supports a campus accelerator for UM System student and faculty ventures.

Scale VC moved to the Arcade District at 709 Fay St., suite 109, on July 1. Calhoun says the new space is a real upgrade. “Our founders love the new location as it provides more space and more private space than our last,” Calhoun says. “The space is wrapped with windows for a nice view of the up-and-coming Arcade District, as well as some nice sun.”

Calhoun says Scale VC is backed by The University of Missouri System, Shelter Insurance, founders of EquipmentShare, Veterans United and many other businesses. Calhoun says Scale VC couldn’t be possible without the support of the community, specifically “Bobby Campbell for his continued support of Scale VC as an investor and friend.”
