Sophia’s, an Italian-inspired restaurant in Columbia, is moving locations. Sophia’s is currently located at 3915 S. Providence Road, but owner Jeremy Brown says Sophias, “is in fact moving.”

According to an article by the Columbia Missourian, Sophia’s contacted the property owner where 44 Stone Public House is located, expressing interest in a long term lease. The Missourian article also stated that 44 Stone Public House was only seeking short term lease extensions, so the property owner took Sophia’s long term offer.

44 Stone Public House originally posted to social media, sharing its frustrations about the closure, but has since deleted the post. The Facebook post had stated that “44 Stone absolutely intended to stay at the original establishment but cannot.”

While 44 Stone Public House is closing, starting in July customers will get to enjoy food and drink at the new restaurant 44 Tavern at Midway Golf & Games. And its sister restaurant, 44 Canteen, is still open in downtown Columbia. To stay up-to-date on the move, keep an eye Sophia’s social media.
