After two years, the Columbia Farmers Market is bringing back the watermelon eating contest. This year, it’s taking place during National Farmers Market Week.

The contest is set for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Columbia Farmers Market. Children and adults are welcome to participate. Anyone 11 years old and under can participate in the children’s contest, which starts at 10 a.m. at the Main Promenade. Anyone 12-17 years old can participate in the teen contest and anyone 18 and up can compete in the adult contest. Everyone is asked to meet under the MU Health Care Pavilion sign.

Those who win will receive Columbia Farmers Market items and, of course, bragging rights. You must sign up to participate. For more information on registration, click here.
