Celebrate Columbia Library’s 100th birthday with a time capsule event and scavenger hunt all week long.

You have through Dec. 31 to submit a memory to be a part of the time capsule. Your memories will placed alongside items by the Columbia library including a summer reading T-shirt, a copy of this year’s One Read book, a library card and more.

The time capsule will be stored at the Missouri State Historical Society until it is opened in 2072, during the 150th anniversary.

Throughout this week, people also can participate in the centennial scavenger hunt by picking up a game card at the help desk and exploring the library. Once finished, return your card and receive a bookmark keepsake and a coupon for a free cookie. You can also enter to win bigger prizes for any age.  Prize drawing winners will be announced Nov. 21.
