Eclipse Spectacular: Where Sun Meets Fun This Weekend

On Saturday, millions can view an annular solar eclipse as it passes overhead in the sky, including us right here in mid-Missouri. To make sure you have the best viewing experience, there are several events to enjoy the celestial phenomenon.

The partial solar eclipse will be in full effect from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. You can experience the eclipse on campus as MU is hosting a viewing event at Lowry Mall and attendees will be able to use eclipse glasses and telescopes with filters.

Columbia Public Schools Planetarium, located in Rock Bridge High School, is also hosting a viewing party. Tickets to the planetarium shows are free, but a $5 donation is encouraged. Along with viewing the eclipse, there also will be family crafts and activities inside the Rock Bridge High School main commons.
