Runners Preparing for the Bear Creek Half Marathon

A fan-favorite mid-Missouri race is returning on the Bear Creek Trail in Columbia this weekend. Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, runners will take part in The Bear Creek Half Marathon.

The 13.1-mile race starts and finishes at Albert-Oakland Park, at 1900 Blue Ridge Road. Runners must register before the race for $65. Participants can pick up their packet rom 4:30-6 p.m. Friday or from 6:30-7:50 a.m. Saturday. Then, the half marathon begins at 8 a.m., with post-race food available at 9 a.m. Following the race, there will be an award ceremony at 10:45 a.m. and the race course closes at 12:30 p.m.

All runners will receive a Bear Creek Run Half Marathon long-sleeve performance fabric race shirt, a finisher medal, post-race food, chip timing, and in-person awards will be given to the first place overall male and female finishers and first, second and third place male and female winners in these age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. A $100 prize will be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers.
