On Monday, April 8, mid-Missouri will experience a total solar eclipse similar to the eclipse in August 2017.

Columbia will see approximately 94% coverage of the sun by the moon from 1:53-2:02 p.m. If you’re interested in experiencing full-totality, you can travel south of Jefferson City or St. Louis, as well as the Bootheel.

According to greatamericaneclipse.com, “the speed of the Moon’s shadow will accelerate from about 1775 miles per hour to about 1900 miles per hour.” For more information, visit their website.
