The pandemic was difficult for nearly every business, many of which are still working to recover. Joel Eisleben, CPA, employee retention tax credit specialist for S&E Consulting, wants to make sure businesses are aware of the funds available to them. “Hardly anyone expects to receive money back for what they lost the past few years, so sharing this information with small business owners is what keeps me energized,” he says. The funds are available through the employee retention tax credit, which is a credit that reimburses businesses for the payroll tax they paid in during the pandemic to retain their employees.
Eisleben says S&E Consulting has been focusing efforts this year on helping nonprofits obtain the tax credit. “Nonprofits give so much to our community and provide so much for our citizens,” he says. “I want to use my skills and expertise to help small businesses and nonprofits in Columbia obtain the credit.”
