A unique event is happening in Columbia on Saturday: Meet an Arabian Horse Day.
Hosted by Central States Arabian Horse Association, the free event is part of “Meet an Arabian Horse Month” and will give attendees the opportunity to meet, pet and take a photo with a local Arabian horse between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Tractor Supply, 4151 Paris Road. During the event, demonstrations will be held so people will be able to learn more about the history, versatility and personality of the Arabian horse, which is widely considered to be one of the most easily recognizable horse breeds in the world.
“Our members are excited to bring Meet an Arabian Horse to central Missouri for the first time,” says Michelle Werts, president of the Central States Arabian Horse Association, in a news release. “We will have volunteers available to answer questions about the activities we enjoy with our Arabian horses and attendees can see samples of the riding clothes we wear and tack we use for some of our riding disciplines.”
Face painting will be available, drawings will be held every 30 minutes and goody bags will be given to the first 200 families to arrive. For more information, check out the event page on Facebook.
