The MU community is mourning the loss of a companion. According to his owner, Harlan, an 11-year-old Great Pyrenees, passed away on Tuesday. He had a massive stoke and was put down.

A statement was put out on the dog’s official Instagram page explaining the heartbreak following Harlan’s death. “We know he brought a lot of joy to so many people. Thank you for all the love you gave to him.” The official Mizzou Instagram responded to the news, expressing just how much Harlan impacted the Mizzou community. “We will miss Harlan immensely. He brought so much joy to the entire Mizzou community, and brightened so many hearts,” the post said.

Harlan spent his life around Mizzou’s campus as a beacon of joy, bringing light to many dark days. He will be greatly missed.
